OSNOVA Design Museum
The Osnova Design Museum is the first design museum in Russia operating in the format of traveling exhibitions. The museum exhibits primarily the works of domestic designers, but studies and displays them in a global context, demonstrating both the continuity of the design tradition throughout the New Time, and the inextricable connection with advanced world trends, technologies and techniques in design.
The museum collection contains more than 5,000 exhibits and more than 400 books, representing objects of design heritage. These include books of the pre-revolutionary and Soviet period, reporting documentation of experimental automobile samples, graphic works (lithographs, chromolithographs, linocuts, pochoirs, etc.), objects of industrial and speculative design, circulation and author's prints.
The museum aims not only to collect, research and display, but also to be a source of inspiration for everyone living in the modern world. The Osnova museum's identity design includes basic geometric shapes such as circle, square and triangle, which characterize the basic concepts, values and foundation of any decision or concept with which our world is full.
